Types of Internet Connections

1 Dial Up connection: Dial Up connection was the first technology invented to access the internet. It is losing its presence across the globe. The type of connections uses a telephone line to connect a PC to the internet. It requires a modem to setup dial up connection. The modem works as an interface between the PC and the telephone. Modem converts Analog signal of the telephone to Digital signal and similarly modem converts digital signal to the Analog signal, so that telephone line understands the Analog signal.

2 Broadband Connecction: DSL (Telephone Line) Digital Subscriber Line is form of broadband that provides connections over ordinary telephone line. DSL is faster than dial-up connection.
3 ISDN – Integrated Services Digital Network – Establishes connection using phone line that carry digital signal instead of Analog Signals.
4 Wireless Internet Connections: Wireless Internet connections allow us to access the internet from any where if the user is geographically with in the network coverage area. Wireless Internet connection makes use of Radio frequency bands to connect to the internet.

5 Mobile Internet: Mobile internet is very common and cheapest now a days. Gone are the days when the mobile internet was costlier. Mobile Telephone service provider (MTSP), provides intene.t plans to access internet services depending upon the type of mobile internet connection speed varies. Lowest mobile internet speed is 2G, then 3G and higher mobile internet speed available in Bharat is 4G. We can also create hotspots with mobile phones to give access to other devices that uses internet.
