The government’s Big Digital Strike

The government’s “Big Digital Strike” blacklisted 1.77 crore mobile connections

The Indian telecom department has made a significant move to improve the digital safety and security of its residents by shutting down 1.77 crore mobile numbers that were being exploited for financial fraud. All of us have experienced spam and phony calls and messages, and some of us have even fallen victim to financial theft. Therefore, it was imperative that policies be put in place to protect India’s online people. To improve safety procedures, 14 to 15 lakh stolen cellphone numbers have also been shut down in addition to the disabling of the SIM cards.

When this mechanism is put into place, Indian telecom users should notice a major decrease in these counterfeit calls using +91 numbers. Cybercriminals have started committing crimes by using Indian cellphone numbers (+91) to make international fake calls. By altering the calling line identity (CLI), also referred to as the phone number, these calls seem to be coming from India, but they are actually coming from elsewhere.
